Can the genders of your children be hereditary?

I'm just wondering because on my dads side its a pattern. My great grandparents had all girls, my grandparents had all boys, my dad had all girls and i dont have any children yet. Idk about my great great grandparents though and so on. So is this pattern hereditary or is it just some coincidence?
