Why is my internet soo slow???!?

Like seriously is at&t this f*king slow? It has been slow forever but i've been able to put up with it because i thought it was just my old ibook but now that I have a new Iphone and new macbook and see that my connection (at&t i have wifi set up) is SO F*KING SLOW i'm getting pissed, it takes me abut 1 hour JUST TO UPDATE ITUNES , on my iphone if i use my wifi, it takes about 25 minutes just to download a freaking app ( if i use m 3g it downloads in about 1 minute)!!! but the most aggravating thing is VIDEO STREAMING!!! its soo slow and sometimes won't even load past 2 seconds and it'll stop!! if i connect to my neighboors wifi signal (which shows "very low " bars, it a whole 5 minute clip for example loads in about 30 seconds!! but on my connection it 1.) won't even load past 2 or 4 seconds, will freeze, or take an hour to load !!!! this can't be possible for it to be this slow or is it like this for everyone?? could there be something wrong with my network?
